7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
WD/D/17000534 – Land adjacent to Bridport Community Hospital – Erect 28no. custom build affordable houses and flats including 9no. affordable self build plots and allotments to form enlarged cohousing neighbourhood – plans for this had been received and discussed prior to the meeting as comments were required before the meeting. The Parish Council objected to this application on the following grounds: Further development will affect the highways of Meadfields, Cherry Tree and Hospital Lane, more traffic due to more houses will affect the general traffic greatly. Visibility issues, speed issues. We do not believe that the Bridport CoHousing contract of only having one vehicle per household will either be enforceable or upheld which will then impact on the neighbouring estates. There are also big concerns with regards to flooding. There are also concerns with regards to drainage. The current sewers/drains cannot cope with the current levels, with out adding further housing developments.. Any further houses on this land is simply gross over-development of the site. It was also noted that the majority of comments already received on this application that have been lodged with planning, are from residents who do not live anywhere near the site of which the majority would be unaware of the many issues this further development would have.

8. ROSPA
ROSPA had inspected the play areas – results of which were read out. No major issues of concern.
