5. BRIDPORT CO-HOUSING
Charles Couzens addressed the Council to update on project. Phase 2 Planning Application – was on a deadline to submit at beginning of Feb, which has been done – yet to be registered though. Some items addressed at parish council meetings have been looked at e.g. no allotments – these have now been put in. Number of hosues on second site reduced to 29. All units will be affordable. Have increased the amount of parking to 1.5 spaces per unit in second phase of the development, self build houses will have 2 spaces per unit. (First phase houses have 1 space per unit). Parish Council were still concerned at the lack of parking and the detrimental effect this will have on the surrounding estates and roads. Bridport Co-Housing are looking at an effective travel plan as well as houses only being leased to people who can prove their second vehicle (if they have one) can be parked in a private car park and not in or around the nearby estates/roads.
Flood Risk Assessment has been carried out. COpy gicven to Parish Council. This was discussed in brief. Nee the Parish Council to make sure that the flooding issue is part of the Section 106 Agreement and to say that the Co-Housing group will contribute towards the cost of the road in North Allington being levelled to a locer levek to lower the risk of water going into peoples homes as per the flood risk assessment. County Council have built this road up over the years and this is the main cause of the problem.
Allocation of affordable housing on Phase 1 – there will be an allocation committee which needs to be formed soon. Parish Council will be approached to ask to provide a rep for this.
